WordPress Read More Excerpt and Summary

This is a short graphical tutorial on how you can customize your self-hosted WordPress blog to show only the first part of the post using the <!- – more – -> quicktag on the homepage of your blog.

Now, let’s login in to your WordPress blog and Manage Posts to edit your latest post so that only the first part of the article is displayed in the homepage. If you do not use the visual editor but the simple code editor, skip Step 1.

Step 4: Editing the post-template.php in the wp-includes folder
